Installation

Our installers are all skilled craftsmen, and our installations are second to none! Faber's Rug Co. has always been based in Wellesley but serves customers throughout New England and increasingly, the rest of the country.

Carpet, tile, and other types of floor coverings contribute to the appeal of the home. Carpet installers inspect the surface to be covered to determine its condition and, if necessary correct the imperfections. They measure the area and plan the layout keeping in mind expected traffic patterns and placement of seams for best appearance and maximum wear.

Installers first fasten a tackless strip to the floor next to the wall. Then they install the pad. The installers unroll the carpet fitting it to the floor using a knee kicker. Most carpet comes in 12' widths; wall to wall installations require a seam to join two pieces of carpet together. The seam is a special plastic tape that is activated by heat. Carpet installation requires skill and knowledge about the materials. Faber's prides itself on an expert installation.
